When it comes to eating well, convenience is everything. I like to have healthy food readily available, both at home and when I’m on the go, to keep me on track. Here are some of the essentials I rely on and the products that keep me organized in the kitchen.

Stasher Bags

If you make one resolution this year, make it to use less single-use plastic. I’m a huge fan of Stasher Bags. Made with silicone, they are washable (even dishwasher safe), microwavable and totally reusable. Use them to store leftovers, chopped veggies, herbs and cheese. I even take them out of the kitchen and use them for organizing jewelry and makeup when traveling.

Mason Jar Smoothies

It’s easy to fall out of routine when you’re traveling, so I’ve started making sure I bring along my favorite powders and supplements so I can make quick smoothies when I’m on the go. I put my powders into small glass mason jars for trips, so all I have to do is add nut milk and shake. I really like this recipe from Chef Carla.

Prepped Veggies

I like to be able to grab and go, so I like to wash and prep my veggies when I get home from my grocery run. It makes it easy to grab some carrots or celery for a snack, or throw together a quick crudite plate for a team meeting or pre-dinner snack.

Apple Cider Vinegar

This is an ingredient nearly everyone has in their kitchen, but it also doubles as a health and beauty remedy helping to reduce bloating, clear skin, and make the body more alkaline. To consume, mix one small spoonful with a glass of water. I keep it in my fridge so it’s easy to find and I remember to use it!

Frozen Fruits

I always have frozen fruits and veggies on hand for making smoothies. Blueberries, mango, spinach and kale are my go-tos. When you have them on hand, it’s easy to whip up something delicious.

Bulk Foods

Nuts, seeds, granola — you name it, I have it. I like to keep these bulk food items easily accessible in clear jars with labels. I even keep a stash at the office for snacking or adding to smoothies or salads. (PS: These are my favorite jars!)
