Papa was a Rollin' Stone

Papa was a Rollin Stone

This was my first album cover. I was hired to work with famed photographer Annie Leibovitz to shoot the new Rolling Stones album cover. The stylist was a talented woman named Tina Bossidy. I somehow managed to be cool in the dressing room and one by one I groomed them all. Charlie, Keith, Mick, and Ron. Keith was my last and I was asked to smudge black pencil around his eyes for his signature look. When I was done, his team told me I made him look healthy and booked me a bunch more times. I’ll never forget when the stylist came in and told them to get dressed. I was cleaning up my stuff, looked into the mirror and low and behold I was alone in the dressing room with the Rolling Stones in their underwear! Years later I was lucky enough to be invited to a very small dinner in London at Mick’s house with my husband where we discussed creativity.
